LAHARI LASHES ETV FILES RS.3 CRORE CASE

Lahari Recording Company proprietor Velu alias Thulsiram Naidu speaking from Los Angeles has announced that he has filed a case for Rs.3 crore damages against ETV Kannada for using the Kannada film songs without any permission.

Using of songs from Prema Loka, Rayaru Bandaru Mavana Manege and Ramachari is against to recently amended Copyright Act.

Legal consultant Venkat of Link Legal Associates is further moving the case for damages to the extent of Rs.3 crores for using the songs in the rights of Lahari Recording Company.

In similar claim Lahari Recording Company claimed Rs.5 lakhs damages from ‘Myna’ Kannada film producer NS Rajakumar as the song of Dr C Ashwath sung Kanada Kadalige Hambalisuthide Mana…was used without permission.

An injunction order has also been passed by City Civil Court in this case and stopped ETV from further using it.

The issue now is in the repeat telecast of ETV Big Boss what guidelines have to be followed.
